Breeding the Pharaoh hound

If you have a Pharaoh hound and you have been thinking about breeding the dog, then it may be a good choice, but you will need to take a number of factors into consideration. Before you start the breeding process, you should take your dog to the vet and make sure she is healthy. You do not want to breed a dog when she is not healthy.

Keep in mind that your dog’s body is going to be going through some stress as they have to carry the puppies in their womb and they will have to go through labor. Then after the dog has the puppies, she will become a mama dog and will have to nurse the puppies.

While you have puppies, you may want to take over and feed them, but many times it is best to let the puppies get milk from the mother. The puppies will be nursing from the mother, so you should make sure you feed the dog healthy food. Even if you are not breeding your dog, you should still feed healthy food.

In many cases, the mother dog will be protective over their puppies and there is nothing wrong with this, it’s called mother instincts, every living, breathing thing has this. If your dog has the motherly instincts, then you will need to be careful around the dog. You should also check the puppies regularly for fleas or whatnot, but don’t handle them too much until they have reached the appropriate age.
